Two keys do most of the work. Cmd/Ctrl + / opens the list of shortcuts. Cmd/Ctrl + K opens the
command bar, which reaches things no shortcut covers.
Use Cmd on a Mac and Ctrl on Windows and Linux. The shortcut list writes that key as Win / ⌘ and the Alt
key as Alt / ⌥; on a Mac, Alt is the Option key.
| Opens | Works | |
|---|---|---|
Cmd/Ctrl + / |
the shortcut list | anywhere except with the cursor in a text field |
Cmd/Ctrl + K |
the command bar | anywhere, including with the cursor in the reply box |
The shortcut list is also in the menu under your avatar, as Keyboard shortcuts. Close it with Esc or
Cmd/Ctrl + Esc.
The shortcuts
Grouped by what you are trying to do, not in the order the list shows them.
Move around the dashboard
Work anywhere. Nothing happens if you are already on that page.
| Key | Goes to |
|---|---|
Alt + C |
the conversation dashboard |
Alt + R |
reports, on the overview |
Alt + S |
settings, landing on Agents |
Alt + V |
contacts — this one does not work, see below |
These navigate and nothing more. If your role cannot open the page, the dashboard sends you back to the conversation list.
Move through the conversation list
| Key | Does |
|---|---|
Alt + J |
opens the conversation above the current one |
Alt + K |
opens the conversation below it |
Alt + N |
moves to the next assignment tab — Mine, Unassigned, All |
Alt + J and Alt + K keep working while you are typing a reply, which is the point of them. They stop
at the ends of the list rather than wrapping round. The list calls them Open conversation, which undersells
them.
Close a conversation
| Key | Does |
|---|---|
Alt + E |
resolves the conversation |
Cmd/Ctrl + Alt + E |
resolves it and opens the next one |
Alt + M |
opens More status actions, the dropdown beside Resolve — Snooze and Mark as pending |
Cmd/Ctrl + Alt + E is the one worth learning. At the bottom of the list it goes back to the top and scrolls
there. If the inbox requires attributes before a conversation may be resolved, Alt + E opens that dialog
instead of resolving — though no Lynomia plan includes that capability, so almost no desk meets it.
Work in the reply box
| Key | Does |
|---|---|
Alt + L |
switches to Reply and puts the cursor in the box |
Alt + P |
switches to Private Note and puts the cursor in the box |
Cmd/Ctrl + Alt + A |
opens the attachment picker |
Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + V |
pastes an image from the clipboard into the message |
Alt + O |
opens and closes the conversation's side panel |
Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + V only works in a reply — not a private note — on an email or website inbox, and your
browser has to allow reading the clipboard. Ordinary Cmd/Ctrl + V still pastes text everywhere.
Whether Enter sends your reply or makes a new line is your own setting, in
your profile and security. On the Cmd/Ctrl + Enter setting, that combination
sends and Enter makes a line.
Type-ahead in the reply box
Not in the shortcut list, and faster than any menu.
| Type | Opens |
|---|---|
/ |
a canned response — in a reply, not a private note |
# |
a macro to run |
{{ |
a variable to insert — in a reply, not a private note |
@ |
a colleague or team to mention |
: |
the emoji picker, after two more characters |
Inside any menu
Up and Down move through an open dropdown or suggestion list, Enter picks, and Esc closes it. In a text
field, Esc takes the cursor out of the field.
The command bar
Cmd/Ctrl + K. The box reads Search or jump to. Type to filter, Up/Down or Tab/Shift+Tab to
move, Enter to pick or to open a sub-menu, Backspace to go back a level — only while the search box is
empty — and Esc to close.
What is in it depends on where you are.
| Section | Appears |
|---|---|
| General, Reports, Settings — up to 28 destinations | always |
| Conversation — resolve or reopen, snooze, mute, send an email transcript, assign an agent, assign a team, add or remove a label, set priority, execute a macro, AI assist | with a conversation open, or a notification open in My Inbox |
| Bulk Actions — resolve, reopen, snooze | when conversations are ticked in the list |
| Appearance — light, dark, system | always |
The conversation section needs a conversation actually open. Standing on the conversation list is not enough, and nothing on the screen explains the difference. Snooze Conversation is offered while the conversation's status is open; a resolved or snoozed one offers Reopen conversation instead.
The navigation entries are filtered by your role and by what your plan includes, so an agent sees fewer of them than an administrator and the list is not the same on every account. Execute a macro needs the macros feature, and AI assist needs Captain tasks; without them neither entry exists.
The snooze sub-menu reads a time you type
Pick Snooze Conversation and the box changes to Type a time e.g. tomorrow, 2 hours, next friday, jan 15…. It means it. What you type is parsed into a real date, and each suggestion shows the resolved date beside the phrase, so you commit to a date rather than to a guess.
Typing on a Wednesday at 10:15 on the 4th of March:
| You type | It offers |
|---|---|
tomorrow |
Thu, Mar 5, 9:00 AM — and tomorrow afternoon, tomorrow evening, the day after |
tomorrow 3pm |
Thu, Mar 5, 3:00 PM |
friday 5pm |
Fri, Mar 6, 5:00 PM |
next monday |
Mon, Mar 9, 9:00 AM — and next Monday noon, afternoon, evening, night |
45m |
Wed, Mar 4, 11:00 AM |
1h30m |
Wed, Mar 4, 11:45 AM |
2 days |
Fri, Mar 6, 10:15 AM |
end of day |
Wed, Mar 4, 5:00 PM |
march 20 |
Fri, Mar 20, 9:00 AM |
5 |
5 minutes, 5 hours, 5 days, 5 weeks, 5 months |
Four rules explain the rest of it:
- A date with no time lands at 09:00. A duration keeps the current minutes —
3hat 10:15 is 13:15. - Filler is thrown away. please remind me in 3 hours resolves exactly as
3 hoursdoes. - Five suggestions at most, and when there are any, the fixed choices are hidden so you are not shown two answers to the same question. Clear the box to get them back.
- The date is worked out again when you press
Enter, not when the suggestion appeared, so3 hoursis three hours from the moment you commit.
The same typing works on Snooze Notification, with a notification open in My Inbox, and on Snooze Conversation under Bulk Actions. There is a third way in that skips the search box entirely: right-click a conversation card in the list and choose Snooze — offered only while that conversation is open — and the command bar opens straight into this box for that one card. What each fixed choice actually means is in work in the inbox.
Write the phrase in English. English always parses. Arabic is understood in part: weekday names, month
names, غدا, الأسبوع القادم and a number with a unit such as 3 ساعات resolve, but most other Arabic phrasing
produces nothing at all, and a suggestion's own wording can come back as a mix of Arabic and English. The
resolved date beside it is always written in your dashboard's language.
Limits
- The shortcut list is not a full list. It does not mention
Cmd/Ctrl+K, the type-ahead triggers, orCmd/Ctrl+Shift+V. - Some of its labels are loose. Toggle Sidebar is the conversation's own side panel, not the navigation sidebar. Go to Settings lands on Settings → Agents. Open conversation is previous and next in the list.
- Nothing can be rebound. There is no screen for changing a shortcut. The only key you choose is whether
Entersends. - Of the shortcuts in the list, four survive a focused text field:
Alt+J,Alt+K,Alt+MandCmd/Ctrl+Alt+A. Every other one in the list waits until the cursor leaves the field,Cmd/Ctrl+/included. The keys that are not in the list —Cmd/Ctrl+K, the send keys, the type-ahead triggers — all work from inside the box, which is the whole point of them. - On a QWERTZ keyboard,
Alt+PandAlt+LneedShiftas well. Lynomia Chat detects the layout and the shortcut list then shows the extraShiftkey. No other shortcut changes. - The command bar's conversation section needs a conversation. Everywhere else you get navigation and appearance only, with nothing to say so.
- Typing a time only works inside a snooze sub-menu. In the top-level box, text is a filter and nothing else.

If it does not work
Alt + V does nothing. The shortcut points at a page name this version of the dashboard does not have, so
the navigation is dropped on the floor. Use the sidebar, or Cmd/Ctrl + K → Go to Contacts Dashboard.
Cmd/Ctrl + / does not open the list. The cursor is in a text field — the reply box counts. Press Esc
first, or click on empty space, then try again.
Alt + M does nothing on this conversation. It is pending or snoozed, so the dropdown beside Resolve
is not there to open.
Cmd/Ctrl + Alt + A does nothing. The composer is switched off. On WhatsApp that usually means the
window has closed — see the WhatsApp 24-hour window.
Alt + P and Alt + L do nothing, on a German or Swiss keyboard. Add Shift.
Alt + E opened a dialog instead of resolving. The inbox requires attributes on resolve — a capability no
plan includes, so this is rare. Fill them in and submit; the conversation resolves then.
Alt + S or Alt + R sends me back to the conversation list. Your role cannot open that page. See
roles and permissions.
I typed a time into the command bar and got no dates. Open Snooze Conversation first — the parsing only happens one level down. If you are already there, write the phrase in English.
The command bar shows only Go to entries and Change Appearance. You are not on a conversation and not in
My Inbox. Open a conversation and press Cmd/Ctrl + K again.
